CU Bike Month

Join the fun and try biking this May!

In celebration of May as National Bike Month, the Champaign-Urbana community celebrates its sixth annual Bike to Work Day in 2015. There are several sponsored events throughout the season, so check the calendar and get biking!

Champaign County Bikes is collecting funds for the Kickapoo Rail Trail matching grant fund all during CU-Bike Month. The Kickapoo Rail Trail will be a 24.5 mile dedicated bike trail that will run from CU to Danville right through Kickapoo State Park. We hope every cyclist involved in CU Bike Month will make a contribution. Our suggested donation is $24.50, a dollar for every mile of trail, but give generously as you can. On Friday, May 29, ride your bike to the summer’s first UrbanaLove Outdoor Movie Night. We are showing the classic film The Bicycle Thief. Come watch a great film in the company of hundreds of bicyclists! The film will start at dusk, but come earlier to socialize with other film goers and area cyclists.

Champaign County Bikes will be at the Urbana Market at the Square this Saturday, May 30th. Stop by if you still need your Bike Month t-shirt!

This weekend is Bike to Worship Weekend. It's CU Bike Month's informal encouragement to all to ride your bike to your house of worship, on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
